Reviewing: The Commercial Real Estate Show with Michael Bull

I’ve only just started listening to The Commercial Real Estate Show with host Michael Bull, but I’ve been more and more impressed with the content of this weekly show with every episode I’ve heard. Michael Bull, CCIM is a radio show host, commercial real estate writer, advisor, and broker. He is also the founder of Bull Realty, which was founded in 1998 and provides expert advice across a range of markets including office, retail, industrial, land, apartments, single tenant net lease investment properties, healthcare real estate, senior housing, student housing, hospitality, and self-storage properties.  The show has been around for over 5 years now and has a strong presence as a leader of information on the commercial real estate market and business related strategies. Trusting a single person as an expert in any industry is difficult, but Michael Bull specializes in having discussions and interviews with analysts from data and research firms, real estate practice leaders, industry organizations, and leaders from development companies, REITs, and financial institutions. It becomes less of an opinion show, and more of a portal into the strategies, trends, and tools that the leading minds of the industry are using.

The clarity and organization of each episode makes complex issues simple to digest, with insight that is easy to absorb and utilize in the profession. Focused topics provide actionable information, and the relevancy is unrivaled as it tackles issues related to today’s marketplace. The best source for the show is the website, but you can also find it on iTunes or YouTube if you want to take that route. The show is also available on U.S. radio stations, but only in the Atlanta, GA area. I think I’ll stick to the website that has the shows, articles, and is always updated.

Since I’m biased to the design and construction side of the commercial real estate field, my favorite episodes involve those with architects and related discussions. The Adaptive Reuse Strategies episode’s guest was an architect at Perkins + Will, who shed light on ways their firm approaches the redevelopment of existing structures.  Below are some of my favorite episodes so far:
